Mercedes-Benz has just presented a new limited edition model that is available exclusively for the S-Class. The German car manufacturer calls it the “Concours S”.
According to the company, the Concours S stands out from the standard version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with the following features:
1. Purpose
Car and driver quoted a company representative that the car was here to highlight the “legacy of Mercedes-Benz at the Concours events”.
2. Design
In order to distance the Concours S from the regular S-Class, Mercedes gave it badges with its special designation. It also has a glossy metallic paintwork in magnetite black and is equipped with the 20-inch light-alloy wheels that can only be found on the AMG S65 and Maybach models in the S-Class series.
However, the real difference lies in the interior of the Concours S. It has seat covers made of light brown Designo semi-aniline leather, which are decorated with unique sports perforations as well as gray stitching and piping. In addition, the “Concours S” is embroidered on the headrests.
The leather steering wheel, the dashboard and the doors are decorated with piano black paint. Even the floor mats have the “Concours S” badge, which can also be exchanged for full leather mats.
Finally, each model has a numbered badge in the front cover of the cup holder.
3. Power
The Concours S delivers the same performance as the 4MATIC models S560 and S560. That translates to 463 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque under the hood.
4. Exclusivity
In the USA only 100 specimens of the Concours S will be produced for the S-Class. The model is expected to be introduced in early 2019.
