We have known for at least a month that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé and the Cabrio will not have any successors. While the flagship of the Mercedes S-Class sedan is safe, the market for extremely expensive large coupés and convertibles is no longer as it used to be and is therefore no longer financially viable for the German automaker. When will these two S-Class variants officially end production?
It will be a lot sooner than you think, according to a new report from Mercedes-Benz Passion. Both are scheduled to cease production in August this year. Orders will only be accepted in May. In other words, if you want to buy one of these you have to act fast. Although Mercedes will no longer sell these two luxury grand tourers, a next-generation SL-Class seems to be on the way.
