Posaidon recently presented its new tuning package for the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet. The engine upgrade enables the convertible to start from 0 to 100 km / h in a full 2.9 seconds.
Posaidon opted for the prefabricated version of the AMG S-Class Cabrio with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The original configuration of the unit delivers 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. However, with the addition of the German tuner’s upgrades, the stake increases to 1,005 horsepower at 1,033 lb-ft of torque. The car’s top speed is also brought to 218 mph.
The increase in performance was made possible by modifying the twin turbochargers of the AMG S63 convertible. Posaidon also introduced some reinforcements into the vehicle’s engine fittings, particularly the steel bushings for the cylinder. The main bearing line, the compression ratio of the unit and the valve springs have also been optimized.
In addition, Posaidon installed a new customer-specific air kit, a sports filter and a radiator for the AMG S63 convertible. Changes were also made to the differential locks, the seven-speed gearbox and the vehicle’s electronics.
No changes were made to the exterior or interior of the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet. After all, the convertible is as sexy as it is – when you consider that it is not only part of the Mercedes flagship, but is also filled with all the extras from the German luxury car manufacturer’s AMG Performance Division.
