The emphasis is on style in brand new black on black on black with a touch of red E300 coupe.
Just started a few weeks agoWe already had the opportunity to test the brand new E-Class Coupé from Mercedes-Benz. In fact, this E300 coupe was a bit like Darth Vader’s wheels. Well, that’s what at least two of the people we met said that. They’re pegged to the bag, old Darth Vader and black.
In any case, this is the newly redesigned Mercedes-Benz E 300 Coupé AMG Line. And one thing makes it really good. It looks a lot like the part. But it also does so many other things very well.
E 300 Coupé accelerates strongly, handles well
The acceleration is impressive, gentle; Road holding and handling with – especially at increased speed. So for a larger family coupé. This latest turbo four-pot with 255 hp and 277 lb-ft Nm has a fruity exhaust and works well enough with the chassis. Though that four-cylinder noise can be a disappointment for the gasoline heads expecting a V8 roar. Welcome tomorrow, Darth Vader.
Tight, fast cornering is a pleasure and the driving experience is positive if it is a bit noisy on rougher tar surfaces. Probably because of those tires. Otherwise it is as quiet as a ghost with impeccable ride quality. The E 300 Coupé reduces the effects of gnarled speed-reducing bumps and bumps to a far quieter and more acceptable experience.
This 9-speed gearbox is a pleasure in daily driving, although it slackens a little under heavy pressure, if the considerable weight of the car is also noticeable. And we noticed a tendency to crawl without notice when stopped and idle.
But this car offers more than just on the move. It has the show in spades too. Ours had the coolest black on black wheels and LED headlights on the outside. And when technology is there, it’s in this AMG line cabin.
E300 Coupé Party Time as technology meets craftsmanship
Our copy of the E300 Coupé had an impressive and flawless party time in a red and black leather cabin. Red? Oh dear – don’t tell old Darth. It’s a fascinating place where Mercedes technology meets craftsmanship. Unique turbine vents compete for the most attention with this 12.3-inch widescreen in a spectacular compromise.
Mercedes-Benz has also taken another step forward with its already impressive multifunction steering wheel technology. It takes a bit of getting used to, but the advanced touch technology on this new bike takes multifunctional functionality to a whole new level. Merc’s rivals were still trying to catch up with touchpad technology on the final stage multifunction wheel. Now it’s just further advanced …
You get a kaleidoscope with ambient lighting, a rear view camera, split folding rear seats, and a larger 12.3-inch screen. Infotainment is really top notch as it strives to be an IMAX theater on wheels and has proper smartphone connectivity. And Miss My Mercedes is at your disposal.
