Controversial YouTube star Paul Logan just had his Mercedes-Benz G500 4 × 4² customized. He had installed a snow plow in the vehicle.
The work was done by a Los Angeles-based business called RDBLA. It was a pretty unusual request as owners of the vehicle don’t typically install snow plows in their G-Class units. What makes it really weird, however, is that the LA climate doesn’t offer any real opportunities for snow clearing. Regardless of that, that now makes Logan’s G-Class unique.
To support the weight of the heavy snow plow, RDBLA added a special bracket to hold it in place. The mechanism also allows the plow to be installed and removed quickly.
RDBLA tested the strength of the G-Class by letting one of its crews ride the plow. After that, they had the vehicle ram a Jaguar onto the road and even lift the rear of the car to demonstrate its power.
They also simulated a car chase to prove that upgrading to the G500 4 × 4² didn’t significantly affect performance on the road. These antics naturally triggered a shocked reaction in one viewer. There was also an off-road demo to show the car’s capabilities on the ground.
While the snow plow gave the G-Class a more rugged look, the same cannot be said of its interior. RDB fitted the car’s cabin with a Rolls-Royce-inspired Starlight headliner. The visual effects definitely add a luxurious touch.
