More spy photos of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz SLC, formerly known as SLK, continue to appear online. There’s also a new rumor about the upcoming car’s possible engine spec and its likely official debut.
Autocar’s SLC’s latest spy photos really don’t reveal anything new based on what we’ve learned about the stylish Mercedes so far. It’s just that the color of the subject is black this time – a contrast to the whiter we presented earlier.
Possible engine configuration of the Facelifted SLC
One point worth mentioning in the Autocar report, however, is the roadster’s likely engine. According to the source, the SLC will carry the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the star brand’s performance division. The technical data not only reflect the performance of the Mercedes-AMG GT, but are also similar to the more powerful Mercedes-AMG GT S with 510 hp and 650 Nm torque.
The official debut of the new SLC
The article also claimed that the world premiere of the updated Mercedes SLC will be held at the Detroit Motor Show 2016 in January next year. With this in mind, there will probably be a model year 2017.
