Mercedes X 350d 6X6 gets an extended subframe, an additional axle and runs on a set of custom-made aluminum rims.
There’s no denying that Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6 is a noticeable SUT. The six-wheel pickup truck is capable of distracting some of the most exotic supercars on the road. Over the years, tuning companies from around the world have used the G63 AMG 6X6 as inspiration for their six-wheel reproductions.
These include the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6X6 and the six-wheeled Bronco from Maxlider Brothers Customs. Recently, a tuner decided to give Merc’s limited edition luxury pickup a similar treatment. This Mercedes-Benz X class 6X6 was sold by Classic youngtimer advice, a car auction website based on Koperslagerstraat in the Netherlands.
The Mercedes G63 AMG 6X6 stopped production in 2015, and due to Daimler’s cost-cutting measures, production of the X-Class is due to end this month. Sure, this Mercedes X-Class 6X6 is a pretty rare sight, but we doubt if that’s enough to fetch the same money as its bigger siblings like the Brabus Mercedes AMG G63 6X6.
Unlike other Mercedes six-wheelers, this X 350d 6X6 doesn’t have many upgrades. Most of the interior of the pickup is stock, and the powerplant remains unchanged even with the added weight of a custom subframe and third axle. Under the hood of this truck is a standard 3-liter turbodiesel V6 engine that was factory-set to produce 255 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of maximum torque.
The engine is equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission and the entire cabin has been raised by about 10 cm. The pickup has a rich metallic brown paint job that is offset by matte black fenders designed to accommodate its huge wheels. The truck rides on a set of six custom-made rims wrapped in all-terrain tires.
The front section shows a Mercedes GTR radiator grille, and we find “6 Wheeler” stickers on the tailgate. The flat bed is lined with diamond pattern steel and has the tubular metal rod from Carlex Designs. The pickup was built last year and sold with only 6,548 miles on the odometer. This 350D six-wheeler is a remarkable SUT, and we expect it to be owned by a very happy customer now.
