It’s essentially an AMG S65 wearing a new fancy suit.
You missed purchasing the Mercedes-AMG S65 final edition? Don’t worry, please, an even higher quality version is now available courtesy of Maybach. Enter the S650 Night Edition, which represents the “absolute high point of luxury” for the double brand Mercedes Benz in the USA, where the special version is exclusively available. Only 15 cars will be produced, which makes it far more exclusive than the final edition of the AMG brand, which was produced in 130 copies.
It combines the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine of the Affalterbach S65 with the high-end amenities of the Maybach S650 to offer the best of both worlds. You get 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque in a luxury cocoon that hits 60 mph in 4.6 seconds before reaching an electronically limited speed of 250 mph.
While it may not match that AMG S65 in terms of performance, those are still impressive numbers for such a big and heavy car. It’s available in Obsidian Black and has basically every feature you can imagine from a Maybach sedan. From the heated and ventilated massage seats at the front and rear to the air suspension, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Night Edition meets all the criteria on the option list, so you don’t have to do this.
Driving a rear-wheel drive V12 car sounds extremely tempting, but the real magic lies in the rear, where there are executive seats with a 43-degree tilt angle and electrically powered calf supports. If you want to drive it, the dark wood and leather steering wheel awaits you. There is leather almost everywhere, including on the door sills and floor mats.
Currently on the way to dealers in the USA, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Night Edition 2020 is not exactly cheap. At $ 242,950, the special edition costs around $ 7,000 more than the AMG S65 Final Edition, not that a few thousand dollars are more important in this price range anyway.
