Mansory, one of the most prolific car tuners in the world, now has a luxurious reproduction of the AMG G63 dubbed the “Gronos 2021”.
The Tri-Star brand’s electrification strategy is quickly taking shape. The company recently announced its launch four new electrified models on the US market, which will contain two electrified SUVs. Mercedes Benz also announced that it will introduce an electrified version of its G-class Nameplate and with the growing popularity of SUVs and EVs; Merc’s decision can best be described as a wise strategic move.
This hasn’t stopped companies from developing high-performance versions of Mercedes SUV models for all transmissions. Mansory is one of the most productive car tuners in the world. Over the years the company has made many exciting reproductions of prominent nameplates, including Porsche Cayenne and Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The outfit based in Brand, Germany has now unveiled a luxurious reproduction of the Mercedes AMG G63, which the company has dubbed the “Gronos 2021”.
In true Mansory tradition, the company has reset the 4-liter biturbo V8 engine of the AMG G63. The engine now has a maximum output of 838 hp and a maximum torque of around 738 lb-ft. This is a significant increase in performance considering the production engine’s overall performance was rated at 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft.
According to Mansory, the Gronos can accelerate from a complete standstill to 62 MPH in just 3.5 seconds in 2021. The German atelier also modified the body of the G63. The body of the car now has the British Racing Green color scheme and a selection of carbon fiber components. The car also gets a widebody kit and rides on huge 24-inch rims that are finished in a glossy black paint job.
The front end of the Gronos 2021 features a new skirt and a redesigned hood made of forged carbon. The rear of the performance SUV is also getting a new apron and spoiler. A pair of LED bars sit on the windshield and the same LED treatment is used to replace the fog lights.
The cabin of the Mansory Gronos 2021 is equipped with soft deerskin, which is offset by accents made of carbon fiber and aluminum. The company has confirmed it will only produce 10 copies of the Gronos in 2021, and prices for each model will start at around $ 666,200.
