IWC Schaffhausen and long-term partner Mercedes-AMG are launching a chronograph inspired by performance engineering. It is the pilot’s watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”.
The watch celebrates the partnership that has united the Swiss luxury watch maker and the German performance automaker since 2004. A movement manufactured by IWC in caliber 69385 powers the first IWC pilot’s watch chronograph with a carbon fiber dial.
“The partnership between Mercedes-AMG and IWC has all the components that are required for a successful and lasting collaboration. It is very rare to come across a company and people with so many common interests and values. Our commitment to craftsmanship at the highest level and our striving for emotional product experiences have united us since 2004 – and the pilot’s watch chronograph edition “AMG” once again underlines our strong partnership, “said Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.
“IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG share a passion for performance and design as well as a commitment to technical excellence down to the smallest detail. Today we are proud to present Mercedes-AMG as an integral part of our pilot’s watch collection, starting with the pilot’s watch chronograph edition “AMG”, explains Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.
The new IWC Schaffhausen watch integrates automotive engineering materials
For the pilot’s watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”, the engineers use materials from vehicle technology. Extremely light and scratch-resistant titanium are part of the menu. The titanium finish of the class 5 watch is inspired by the AMG’s characteristic Selenite Gray Magno paintwork.
The dial is made of precisely woven carbon fiber. It’s a material that AMG uses for the aero components. The Mercedes-AMG logo appears on the black-tinted sapphire crystal case. The calfskin strap encircles the owner’s wrist.
Customers can order a watch online from the IWC.com website. You can also find it in IWC boutiques and authorized trading partners. After registering in the My IWC maintenance program, the watch benefits from a 6-year extension of the standard 2-year guarantee.
