The well-known armored vehicle manufacturer Inkas has just presented its latest project based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 Sport Utility Vehicle. The vehicle is aptly referred to as the “Armored Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG” and offers a level of ballistic protection in accordance with CEN 1063 BR6.
Externally, the armored G-Wagen looks exactly like the standard AMG G63. The highlights of the new model are the Panamericana front grille and the rounded headlights. However, the car’s skin has been reinforced to withstand bullets from conventional firearms and explosives.
David Khazanski, CEO of Inkas, said they made a decision not to change anything in the external appearance of the vehicle so that it would not attract unwanted attention and people would not be made aware of the vehicle’s armored capabilities.
Basically, armor according to CEN 1063 BR6 means that the car can withstand shots from 7.62 x 51 mm cartridges and the simultaneous detonation of two hand grenades on its floor.
Under the hood of the armored AMG G63 is the same 4.0-liter biturbo V8 in its unadulterated version. The engine develops 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to get out of trouble quickly. However, we have doubts whether the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds due to its additional weight due to the armor.
Inside the Inkas AMG G63 are the same dual digital screens in the cockpit, one of which acts as an intelligent media system with voice commands. It has Apple and Android connectivity, heated seats and a 64-color LED lighting system.
