The majority of Mercedes-Benz fans currently have their full attention on the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupé But that’s not all that the star brand has in store for us at the Geneva Motor Show 2018. Also on the program is the revised sedan and the Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC station wagon.
The 43 series closes the performance gap between the Mercedes-Benz models and their AMG versions. These cars used to be marked under the Mercedes-Benz AMG Sport Badges until they were adopted by the Mercedes-AMG brand. After the initial success of the renamed models of the 43 series and the entire C-Class, the Mercedes-AMG C43 is finally getting a midlife update, not only in terms of looks, but also in terms of technology and engine performance.
Based on the press release and photos by Daimler The exterior of the sedan and station wagon models Mercedes-AMG C43 are subtly changed. The updates include a redesigned front bumper with a new design on the air intakes, a double grille, two tailpipes, a rear diffuser and a tailgate spoiler. They are partners with a selection of 18- or 19-inch light-alloy wheels from AMG, which are wrapped in high-performance tires.
Inside there is the same level of detail in the upholstery of the car as in the previous model. The most important upgrade concerns the car’s onboard technology, which includes the 10.25-inch screen with COMAND interface.
The same 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine is located under the Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC. However, the powerplant was reconfigured to produce up to 390 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque for all four wheels. The output is distributed via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission.
However, the numbers do not result in a faster acceleration from zero to 100 km / h. The numbers remain at 4.7 seconds for the sedan and 4.8 seconds for the station wagon. On the other hand, the top speeds of the cars are still 155 mph.
