The third generation Mercedes-Benz CLS has just been presented. The car has many design changes compared to its predecessor and has several engine cowlings.
Here are four facts about the new Mercedes-Benz CLS:
The new Mercedes-Benz CLS retains its characteristic four-door coupé design with its elegant and sexy design, which is highlighted by the sloping roofline and the body arches. Compared to the second-generation CLS, the new model has a smoother exterior thanks to its reduced body lines and curvy corners. Other notable improvements include a new grille shape inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT, a flat bonnet, a new lighting system and better air.
The interior of the new CLS has many elements from the E-Class. The surfaces are decorated with high-quality leather, which is highlighted by opulent seams and wood paneling. It also features an ambient lighting system, illuminated jet turbine-like vents, a digital cluster, and driver assistance technology similar to the S-Class. The dashboard can be upgraded to accommodate two 12.3-inch displays. The technology and comfort of the CLS can be improved with the optional Energizing Comfort Control and driver assistance package from Mercedes.
The new CLS is currently available as a six-cylinder engine with three panels. The CLS 350 d 4MATIC develops 286 HP, the CLS 400 d 4MATIC develops 340 HP and the CLS 450 4MATIC develops 367 HP plus 22 HP from its EQ Boost system. Further engine options will follow early next year.
4. Special Edition model
An Edition 1 model will be launched one year after the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The special edition will house a more luxurious interior, decorated with black pearl nappa leather, ash trimmings, copper stitching and Edition 1 badges. It is offered in all engine variants of the CLS series.
